“ By far the best and most authentic Mexican in the area. The service here is incredible, the servers really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. ”
“ Stopped in for lunch and the place was unusually quiet. The inviting ambiance, and impeccable service help make this a 5 star for me. Fresh Salsa and chips brought to the table before you get your coat off. Next comes a complementary Quesadilla. Margaritas are on point. Food is authentic, and free chimichangas for desert. They offer you a shot of tequila as well which I unfortunately had to decline. Love this place. ”
“ Love this Place.. my husband and I have been going here for years. It's our favorite restaurant . The food is amazing but not as amazing as the staff. If you love Mexican, you should try it. They make you feel very welcome. I have to go at least every other week lol ”
“ I'm sure there are more authentic, refined Mexican restaurants (though nowhere near me). But I have eaten here twice now and both occasions met or exceeded my expectations. The food is elevated street food and more. Not high cuisine, but standard fare well executed. I lived in L.A. for about ten years, and before moving East, I visited my favorite Mexican restaurant and begged the kitchen to show me how they made their refried beans. They consented and I carry that prep with me to this day. El Mexicano apparently knows it, too. Like the proper execution of an omelet can tell you the competence of a cook, refried beans and rice can say a lot about a Mexican kitchen. The service is welcoming and prompt. The house delivers amuse bouche -- it's the same term in Spanish -- within moments after you are seated. Yes they bring the usual chips and salsa, but they also bring a warm quesadilla. A nice touch. The extensive menu offers the classics: tamales, burritos, tacos, etc. all in varying combinations. But the house also offers, por ejemplo, snapper huachinango, and moles that are worthy of "sus abuelas", and more. Las abuelas aprobarian. The room is festive and colorful and there is a nice selection of music to set the mood without being intrusive. Just as you're looking for the check, you are presented with a beautiful, bonus "sweet chimichanga," a delicious creamy banana wrapped in a lightly deep-fried flour tortilla, drizzled in honey and a dollop of whipped cream. A perfect punctuation for the meal. I'll be back. ”
“ Traditional feel of a family, Mexican restaurant. The food was amazing! The cautions are humongous and I couldn't even eat half of what was served to me. The leftovers the next day makes me want to go back again soon The servers were helpful and quick ”
“ El Mexicano has been a beloved spot just on the outskirts of the main downtown strip in Saratoga Springs for quite some time. I have frequented this restaurant over the years, meeting friends for lunches, dinners, and even treating my co-workers to a meal during a conference week. During my most recent visit, I popped in for lunch before a meeting and found the usually bustling restaurant to be quiet in the early hours. The decor of the space is adorned with traditional Mexican art featuring Mayan and Aztec imagery, right down to the intricate carvings on the indoor dining chairs and tables. Upon being seated, a basket of chips and salsa was promptly brought over. On this particular visit, I opted for the enchiladas suizas, which also came with a complimentary quesadilla. The salsa and chips were as delicious as ever, with the freshly made salsa perfectly complementing the crispy tortilla chips. The warm, melty quesadilla was a delightful snack that I savored alongside the salsa. The enchiladas arrived promptly and were exactly what I was craving. Topped with salsa verde and filled with flavorful chicken paired with salsa roja, the combination was a delightful blend of flavors. The only drawback from this meal was that the rice was slightly undercooked for my liking. Overall, El Mexicano continues to impress with its authentic Mexican cuisine and inviting ambiance. Despite the minor issue with the rice, the overall dining experience was enjoyable, and I look forward to returning to indulge in more of their delicious dishes. ”
“ I had dinner here with friends tonight and it was as good as it's been in years past. The establishment has both indoor and outdoor seating. I called earlier in the week for reservations but was told that it's first come first serve and that seating shouldn't be a problem. True to their word I was seated almost immediately. I sat outside and it was quite pleasant. There was a good breeze and the area was nicely covered/tented. The only slight downside was that it was rather noisy and hard to hear much less have conversation. Most tables outside were filled and we were seated in close proximity to one another. After a little leaning in to chat as well as getting our orders placed, diners came and went so it brought the noise level much lower. They are located on South Broadway and have their own dedicated parking lot which is a plus. However it is not very big and fills up. I was unable to get a spot in their lot but found street parking easily nearby. The service is good, and the chips and salsa came almost immediately as you looked over the menu. We ordered a mix of enchiladas, a combination plate with a taco, burrito and enchilada, as well as a combination plate with an enchilada and a tamale and a burrito. An especially nice touch is that you're given a small cheese quesadilla before your entree comes. You're also given a complimentary sweet banana chimichanga drizzled with honey with a side of whipped cream for dessert! The portions here are nice and I ended up taking half my entree home. Dinner here was enjoyable and I definitely recommend! ”
“ Great atmosphere, easy to park. Seating inside and outside. Traditional offerings. The staff is awesome and attentive. My food came out hot and quick. I really enjoyed the house music and margaritas. At the end of the meal they brought out a complimentary banana desert, so good. Big fan of this place. ”
“ Wonderfully decorated and authentic Mexican music playing. The chairs were comfortable, and each was an individual work of art. The wait staff was excellent and the food was very delicious and not overpriced. We all really enjoyed the food and the margaritas were spot on. Will come here next time I'm in Saratoga Springs! ”
